Why pray?

I believe God to be everything good kind, understanding, helpful and more. Prayers are offered by indiviudals and in groups and we all know to what extent we go till our prayers are answered. There are churches, temples mosques where God is praised and worshippers ask for favours. Is it not enough if we ask just once what we want? Will God not listen? Does God expect worship?

Simply put, prayer is a language of love that connects loved ones together, you to God, and God to you. Our prayers are answered, usually in God's way, but at times, he will also grant our prayer requests too, I think, because of his love for us.

I remember the expression "Storming Heaven" Why storm? God surely knows our needs when we ask for ithem. We should get them when we ask. God is merciful, loving, undersanding, helpful and more. The prayer is ended by saying "Thy will be done" We are also expected to praise Him Does God expect that? I praise Him throughout the day. I do not ask but just praise Him.

@innertalks When that is how we look at the situation then why storm heaven? Hours, days and even months are spent in group prayers, novenas and so on The only thing I have understood is that we should bring God in our life and He will take care of us Being in need and having challenges makes life interesting

@allknowing Yes, God knows our needs, but do we ourselves know our real needs? Some of us do not know what we really need, and so a prayer ending with, "Thy will be done," is a great way to end our prayers with.

God rewards persistent prayers. Luke 18:1-8 tells the story of a widow who sought relief from a judge. He said that he would help her so she would quit aggravating him. God rewards persistent prayer, although not always exactly like we want.
