In Parks outside the South Bengal districts the trails are all red in colour. The districts close to Kolkata which are adjacent to river Ganges has fertile alluvial soil. the distant districts have this soil. In parks in a green background the red soil trails look nice.

That alluvial soil trail is very fertile and many crops are grown there. Red soil and black soil are very suitable for cotton and jute too. Bengal's jute is a big contributor in its economy.

thanks Arunimaji I find every 200 kilometers the soil structure changes. In bengal the southern part near sudarbans have delta topography, calcutta and vicinity have alluvial soil and coastal structure. Malda and northwards there is climate suitable for growth of mangoes. Purulia Bankura are dry and resemble Jharkhand and Bihar. Darjeeling has alpine vegetable. Bengal has a mini India in it.

We learnt a little about the Ganges when I was at school. I know the alluvial plains were very fertile.
