My Cartoon Past

Gone for another week but.... I just did the daily Swagbucks Daily Poll. It asks which of these nostalgic items brings back the best memories? It had Gameboy, Blockbuster Video Rentals, and several others. But my favorite was Saturday morning cartoons. Then I got to thinking about which was my favorite cartoon back then. My memory went immediately to The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show (It was on from 1959 until 1964- I was about 8) and The Flintstones. Now,The Flintstones was just cute, but Bullwinkle had so much going for it. I liked the two scientists and Mr.Peabody. I couldn't find the names of the scientists, but they were funny. Does anyone remember what their name was? They weren't on it very often.
Now, the question is, what was your favorite Saturday morning cartoon? As well as the ones I mentioned there was Johnny Quest, Mighty Mouse, Scoobie Doo, The Jetsons, Top Cat, and several others I can't recall.

I think it would have to be The Pink Panther or the Flintstones.
Seems like a lifetime ago now that we sat and watched cartoons on a Saturday morning.
You mention some great cartoons in your post - the Jetsons were great also.

Oh, yes! The Pink Panther. I enjoy it too. I might even change my preference to The Jetsons instead of The Flintstones.

It's a hard one to choose between the two.
Fred Flintstone wins the day but the Pink Panther eclipses them both.
It was on another level.

I loved Marvin the Martian. I wish they had done more of that one.

Scientists? I don't remember scientists on Rocky and Bullwinkle. I remember Mr. Peabody and his "boy" Sherman. 1964? I wasn't born until 6 years later, so I must have been watching it in syndication.
I had several favorite Saturday morning cartoons, but one that stands out in my mind is Dungeons & Dragons. "Hocus Pocus and Abracadabra and all those other magic words!"

Yes, a short one and a tall one. They were hilarious. I had forgotten about another one, too. Mr Magoo.

I loved most all of the cartoons however, I did not get to see them always because I had to go to Latvian school on Saturday mornings. Popeye taught me to like spinach and Bug Bunny to eat carrots. I adored Scooby Doo and even today have all the DVD I put them on when I need a real pickup.

I don't use the games and only get points when I buy something and the poll each day. Every little bit helps.
