A humorous love story unfolded when Mitchell O’Brien got stuck in quicksand at Van’s Beach in Michigan while searching for Leland blue stones with Breanne Sika.
Initially thinking their feelings weren't mutual, a friend suggested they date. When O’Brien sank into the quicksand, he and Sika struggled to call for help, with a 911 operator mistaking their call for a telemarketing scam. 
Eventually, rescuers freed O’Brien, and in a lighthearted moment, he referred to Sika as his girlfriend for the first time.
The experience brought them closer together, turning an unusual situation into the beginning of their relationship.
