I've been to the big Tesco again this afternoon. I went on my own again, and it was very hot so I didn't wear a coat. I've also stopped wearing a jumper in favour of a blouse. When I got there I got a trolley, and then I went to get rid of the soft recycle. But there was no receptacle to put it in! There was a cover on the floor that goes over the receptacle, but no receptacle. Beside was a receptacle for recycling your old clothes. I was left standing there wondering what to do. Then another couple came along with 2 trolleys full of soft recycle. Theirs was in big bags that were tied off. They just left theirs on top of the cover from the soft recycle receptacle, so I put mine on too, still in the bag. I thought I can quite easily get another bag. Then I went up on the lift. When I got into the main shop, I went and got a Doctor Who magazine. Then I got myself 2 bottles of water. I then went and got Syd 2 packets of soothers. I then went straight to the fruit and veg section, because my Mum didn't want any pads today. I got some green grapes, 2 lots of strawberries (they looked good and didn't have white bits at the top) and some little bananas for my Mum. I got some blueberries, spring onions, a red pepper and a red grapefruit for me. I looked to see if they had any mung bean sprouts, but I couldn't find any. I got some button mushrooms from the end of the isle. After that I went and 2 bottles of milk for my Mum. There were only 3 of the 2 pint bottles of semi-skimmed left, and they were right at the back, so I had to reach all the way back to get them. It quite surprised me that I managed to do it, but I did! Then i got my vegan yoghurts and some strawberry rice puddings for my Mum and Syd for their puddings on Sunday. Next I went and got some Lurpak Lighter for my Mum, and then I went to the vegan and ready meals isle. Mum didn't want any ready meals today because she said she'd be using stuff up from out of the freezer. I got 4 packets of meat free bites, a vegan pizza and a packet of tofu for me. Then I got my Mum some broccoli cheese from the end of the isle. Then I went to the ingredients isle and got some olive oil and some ground cinnamon. And then I went to the pasta, rice and ingredients isle. I got 2 Tilda egg fried rices for my Mum, and I got some udon noodles and some soba noodles. After that I went to the canned isle and got an original curry pot noodle, a beef and tomato pot noodle, a can of spring veg soup and a small tin of salmon for Syd. Then I looked for some apple and cinnamon hot cross buns, but they didn't have any. They did have some hot cross buns, but not the apple and cinnamon flavoured ones. Next I went to the cakes and got my Mum and Syd some chocolate eclairs for their supper tonight, and some french fancies. I also got some maple syrup for me and some sugar for Syd. Then I went straight to the teas and coffees isle and got myself some Matcha green tea T-bags. And then it was straight to the frozen section. They didn't have any vegan magnum ice lollies again today, so this time I didn't bother getting any. I went round the next isle and got my Mum some jacket potatoes, some Tescos own brand crinkle cut chips (my Mum likes them better than the McCain,) some mini pizzas, 4 battered cod fillets and 2 of the posher battered fish. I got myself some prawns aswell. I got myself some toilet paper, and then I went to pay. I'd just put everything on the conveyor when I remembered to my horror that I hadn't got Syd's bird seed! So I quickly left everything and ran and got the bird seed. I was back before the guy infront had payed for his stuff. I packed the groceries into the bags, and told the cashier I was having another bag. (30p). Then I payed. It came to just over £128. After that I went to sit on a bench for a bit, as it was still only about 4:00pm, and read some of my Doctor Who magazine. At about 4:25pm, I went down on the lift and waited in the undercover car park for Syd to come and pick me up again. When I got home I gave my Mum her change, shopping list and club card. Then I unpacked the groceries and put them away. I had my dinner and watched some telly. Later on I put the recycle out ready for the recycle bin man tomorrow. Now my Mum has gone out to the house group. What have you lot been getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a great night. Nos da.

@sharonelton I’m quite well thanks. Drove up to Carrickfergus and a bit beyond to buy clothes for holiday for our daughter. I hate clothes shopping but I also needed some myself and it put me in a bad mood. It was too hot here - 21 degrees which is marginally lower than in Athens where we’re headed to on Monday. I don’t do heat well when I’m in Ireland but I like it when I’m in Greece.

I'm glad you are well. I'm not too keen on clothes shopping either, it makes me feel giddy! I hope you enjoy your time in Athens. That's strange. What's the difference?

Nothing much planned for today. Tomorrow Kotecki is coming to the house to sell me a headstone.

I had rather an epic shopping trip yesterday. I wanted duck to cook for our friends/ lodgers who were arriving, and I knew Tesco was more likely to have that as they usually have a better selection of poultry. But first I went to pick up something from Freegle and then on the way to Tesco I first pass Lidl, so I thought I would go there first to get the basic stuff. So I got a couple of bags of groceries there, and was pleasantly surprised that it was cheaper than I expected. Then I went on to Tesco. There was a big traffic jam but that was the same in both directions so I continued anyway. I got the duck and some other things I couldn't get in Lidl and had a shock because that was a lot more expensive than I expected! (mainly because I bought the duck and also lots of dried fruit). And the worst thing was that they just had an empty space on the shelf where the gluten-free flour should be (one of the lodgers is coeliac) and there was none to be found even though a nice friendly assistant did go and check, so then I had to go to Sainsbury's as well! Luckily that was on the way home anyway and the traffic was a lot better by then, and they did have some - phew!

I've been doing some watering and have planted some vegetable seedlings. We're house-sitting at the moment.
