Firefighters in Illinois honored for saving the life of a man who was out cold

Herrin Illinois resident Bill Holmes was found out cold inside of his home on Monday January 6 when Bill was asleep inside of his home due to being overcome by carbon monoxide poisoning during an ice storm. Firefighters from the Williamson County Fire Department answered an emergency call from the home of Bill due to a carbon monoxide alarm. Bill passed out since he was using generator when his home no electrical power due to an ice storm. Firefighters used cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to save Bill's life. Firefighters recommend having carbon monoxide alarms inside of every home. Seven firefighters from the fire department were honored on Tuesday April 22. Link is msn.com/en-us/news/us/...

I added a carbon monoxide alarm several months ago. I'm glad they were able to save Bill's life.

Carbon monoxide fumes can be fatal since they are hard to detect.
