I don't know why, but I think I can pin the time pretty close.
I was afraid I was going to get sick with a cold, so I took a zinc pill. This was sometime between early 1982 and late 1983. I then, not right away, but within an hour, I threw up.
Now, I'm no fool, I went to my supervisor and told him I was sick and went home. About an hour later I threw up again. Then about a half hour... I had to go to a doctor. I was given medicine to take, a script not the actual medication. Now, I can't say I live in the best area of town, but I'm sitting there waiting for the medicine and I started feeling like I was going to throw up again. I asked to go to the bathroom, but they kept it locked - and this before the really bad homeless stuff got started. They wouldn't let me in so I wound up throwing up into their ashtray... yes, they had an ashtray in a pharmacy.
That lit a fire under them. So, I go back home and take the medicine... and this isn't one you swallow since I'd probably just throw it up, ifyouknowwhatImean...
Now if I throw up, it only stops when there is medical intervention.
I might've mentioned this a few years back because I had a bad reaction to an anesthetic. I ended up having to go to the ER because I didn't have any of the medication. The doctor agreed that I should have it on hand just in case, but we had to fight to get it for months! We finally won... maybe explaining that it was fill the script or pay for an ER visit!
So, I went out today, for the first time since last Wednesday to pick up a prescription. But the pharmacy I normally go to didn't have my drug, and I've been out for 2 whole days. They found a different one that did have it so I went out for it. Then I crossed the street from the pharmacy and gassed up the car. And I got home. I took the dose of medicine that I should've taken at 2, but it wasn't quite 3 so I'll be back with tonight's medicine.
But about an hour after taking it, I am feeling really sick. Today is trash day, but I'm not up to do it. I kind of have to balance, do I take the medicine, knowing 100% it will knock me out, or do I just lay down without taking it and hoping.
I'm inclined to do the former but I'm wondering what you guys would do?

Will it hurt anything if you don't take the trash out this week? I'd take the meds and go to bed, myself.

@DaddyEvil I went to bed about 9:20. I wasn't sure I'd be asleep by the time my 10 p.m. alarm for medicine would go off. I was. In fact, I was pretty confused when it went off. But I grabbed it and took it, nice thing about liquid medications, you can learn to take it while lying down on your back. I woke up sometime in the 3 o'clock hour. About 6 hours... I was determined to not get up. I started my phone with a sleep story from the Get Sleepy site. I never thought I'd go to sleep with someone talking, but that site just makes me crash. And my 6 .m. alarm woke me up with the music still going. But now I'm hot. Really hot! Doctors don't get too upset when a person is running a low 99.1º temperature, but since I am normally in the low to mid 97º temps, I'm not feeling my best. And I need to pee. So I got up around 6:30 since my ac's remote is over on my desk... and I need to pee... So, it is a bit after 7. I'm going to put the dog out and pee.

@ElicBxn As long as it doesn't cause a problem with anything else, I always opt for keeping me healthy when I can manage it.

I would take care of what you need to get done, first while pacing yourself then take the meds.

I just can't. I know if I try to do the trash, which involves cleaning the cat litter and doing twisting and a little lifting, then I will be sick. I decided to not do it. Maybe if I wake up early in the morning I might get some done. But one of the things I had to do, was bring the trash can up from the road. That was before I started feeling bad. But the way my back is, I just can't do as much as I would like.

@kaylachan since I woke up early I'm going to try to get most of the trash out. I'm running a low fever, but I hate to torment the cats with dirty cat boxes.
