This maid who we have knows stitching She has taken orders and does that work staying away from our work I am upset I have told her not to come as that is wrong. What I notice is this category has no conscience She has been helped by providing funds for her marriage, recently she was paid for her sickness and al lthis besides the salary we pay her. There is loads sof work that needs to be done and getting maids is not easy but at the same time I do not think we should encourage such selfish ways of making money

Uhm... In the US, people who can make more money doing something else, do something else. Nothing forces them to continue working for a company or a person who doesn't pay them what the person thinks their time and labor are worth. It was nice of you to pay her while she was sick but if you paid her more than she can make doing other things, then she'd still be working for you and you wouldn't need to find a new maid. What she's doing isn't selfish... It's called a free market labor situation.

If I did that while I was working the company would have sacked me as it is illegal to work somehwere else taking leave. Anywhere she is back and I told her that if she takes leave to do the other work then she can leave.

@allknowing Why would it be illegal to take leave and work for someone else. As long as she's on leave, why is it your business what she's doing? Or, you could offer her slightly more pay and she wouldn't feel the need to do outside work. She'd stay with you and be happier with the pay she's making.
