Several weeks before my mother-in-law passed away, she made a lot of cabbage burger "rolls" as she made the best cabbage burgers/rolls. We stopped by her house to see what all she was up to and she sent us a lot home. She also said she had a "secret" recipe for her filling and she told us what it was!!!
The hubby had been wanting cabbage burgers , but I wasn't really looking forward to making the dough. We stopped by our local country market to get a head of cabbage and was going to pick up some frozen bread dough. The lady that owns the store, said "No, I will give you some frozen rolls/buns that had gotten flattened." So, she gave us 2 bags of flattened frozen rolls/buns!!!
Last night I made cabbage burger "rolls" using the mother-in-laws "secret" recipe, there were somethings I need to add more of, but overall they were very good!!! I hope she was looking down on me!!

@STOUTjodee So more akin to sausage rolls than cabbage rolls.

No. I just used frozen bread bun/rolls that had been flattened at the store. Instead of trying to seperate each bun/roll I just rolled it out into a big square (like one would for making cinnamon rolls.) I , then spread my filling over the square and then rolled it up. Once It was rolled into a log, I then sliced them (as you would for cinnamon rolls.)

Those cabbage burger rolls sound interesting. We use cabbage in our fish tacos instead of lettuce.

@STOUTjodee .......Be sure to season your fish. I put the fish in a steamed corn torilla with sliced cabbage and thousand island dressing. I think it is very tasty.

I am sure that your late mother-in-law is proud of your ability to make cabbage "Rolls" successfully.
