Ruth Buzzi of Laugh In recently died. I'm sure the tv show is showing my age !!!
I remember watching Ernestine (Ruth Buzzi) as a telephone operator on the tv show Laugh In. She had many characters but I especially am reminded of Ernestine. My older sister could do her perfectly. So here's hoping that my sister and Ruth Buzzi are heaven's telephone operators!!!

Lily Tomlin was Ernestine, as is evident in the clip you've shared. Ruth Buzzi was the purse-swinging spinster that Arte Johnson's Little Old Man was always trying to accost.

I remember the late actress Ruth Buzzi for her minor role in the western comedy "The Villain" as well as her work of Laugh In which played on television on the former Southern Command Network (SCN) in Panama.

Lily Tomlin used to be a telephone operator, too. So sorry to hear of her passing. She was so good. I remember her on Laugh-In.
