So, when I first got my car, in an area I am pretty unfamiliar with I missed a turn. I had already paid a toll for a previous road, and since I had just purchased a car, I didn't have any extra cash. I couldn't"r pay the toll, and she said I could pay online. She didn't give me a website though..then I get a text saying I owed such and such. Bottom line although fake it looked official. I assumed I would have gotten a letter about this but at the time I just wanted to get the small payment over withand I talked to Ez pass for this state it was fake, and they said the banks know about this scam, why the payment wasn't processed. A little unnerving thinking scammers may have my card info though. I may have to get a new debit card. Better safe than sorry
