CEO Packages Never Seize to Amaze Me

The pays for high profile company CEOs is an interesting topic in itself. Laxman Narasimhan, Satya Nadell, Sundar Pichai, Tim Cook, Bob Iger, and Jensen Huang are all earning less than Jim Anderson, who is Coherent's CEO. It's always amazes me to see such huge figures. They are motivating. It sets a target for us that we should at least earn a so-and-so per cent of that amount. What do you think?

Some people scoff at CEO pay. But when I look at the books and what they bring to the table, they tend to be worth every single penny they earn. But the numbers can be rather eye-popping, no doubt about that.

It definitely is a hard journey to be at the top. These people are really with extraordinary brilliance and they have that vision that we don't. That's why they are there It's really a tough competition as non performance means sure to get kicked out. But I've seen CEOs who are holding the post for years on end. And still they are continuing. They definitely deserve it.

@abhi_bangal Rich people in general, and people who reach these levels are an interesting lot when you think about it. Every day they walk into the office it's like they have won the lottery, yet they keep working regardless whether or not they need the money. You can't say that about the average Joe worker who, the minute they would win the lottery, would tell their boss to go to Hell. lol

@porwest Yeah, there's a point in what you are saying. These CEOs are a breed of a kind. They know they are going to get a certain amount of money and still you'll see them working with the same enthusiasm and energy. It's like it's their first working day and they have to prove something to someone. Also, they never get complacent. Keeping that kind of energy like a small kid is definitely amazing. I wish I get to learn at least one thing from any of them. But more importantly it'd be a challenge to work like them days on end. I'd just do it a day or two Their patience and perseverence is simply worth a salute!

I wouldn't want to be a CEO unless it was my own company.

Then who would pay you? You would be paying others in that case Well, jokes apart. But yes, I agree. Having own business and paying our employees is such a satisfying thing. Employing, instead of employed, is a totally different feeling altogether.

But in my opinion, they deserve what they earn - every penny of it. We don't know what it really takes to be a CEO of a company. And to sustain there as well as take the company to new heights. I'm not differing with you actually. But just putting up my opinion.
