Halwa is mostly an Indian cuisine although as is the case nowadays anything and everyhing is made all over the world.
Hallwa can be made form many things - banana, wheat, pumpkin, soji, several kinds of fruits lentils the works
It is made by adding sugar and gheee along with almonds or any other dry fruit
I love to eat halwa and when I was living in the city there used to be what is called Royal Halwa which came in a box that had different varieies

North African Halwa is very good, it is part of their ancient tradition, they use pistachios and sesame seeds. Turkish halva is distinct from your Indian halva, as it is often made with tahini and sugar, it has a very dense consistency. We had many North African and Turkish restaurants in the south of France.

@allknowing - I discovered Halwa many years ago when we visited Morocco with my husband. I also forgot about it and I found it in the French open markets on the French Riviera.

Looks delicious and sweet but I am not familiar with this. Do you bake this?
