The Mulberry Tree

I probably mentioned already in my previous discussions how I wanted to live in a farm in the near future. Actually that is my retirement plan. I want to live in a farm with a simple house and a big garden where I can plant fruit, vegetables, and flowers as well as raise different livestock. Well, today our lesson with my favorite Turkish student named Esra was about making silk. Silk is made of silkworm which feeds from a mulberry tree. Mulberry trees have black or white fruit. They are sweet. I want to grow mulberries in my farm in the near future.

Hubby and I also wish to live in a farm when we retire. I hope that we can realize this dream together.

I have the same plan when I retire. I want to live in a farm where I can plant different types of plants. As of now my mulberry is planted in a pot so the growth is somewhat controlled.

Wow! That is nice to hear. You must share some photos of it bearing fruits. What color is its fruit?

@Neil43 It's not growing well in pot. I am planning to transfer it to another pot, a bigger pot. I am still waiting for the time that we can transfer to our newly bought lot so I can be able to plant but there are still some works to be done like the water source and the boundaries. We already paid for the survey and hopefully we can start building this year.

We cut down the mulberry tree in front of our house. It always made a mess when the fruit got ripe and started falling on the ground. I like a few mulberries every year but not enough to pick them and do something with them. Mom used to make mulberry jelly. I'd eat one sandwich and I was done with it.

@Neil43 We didn't like the mess in the front yard so cut it down. Nope, not going to happen.

Oh why did you cut them? Please plant them back. I want to see a picture taken by you, DE.
