Ollie's, Wendy's and Chinese

Man, did that ever turn out to be an expensive day yesterday, but things were accomplished as well, so I'd also call it a fairly productive day. Luckily, I did find my 1500 PSI pressure washer at Ollie's they advertised for $79, and gave it a test run, using it to wash my wife's car. I even used soap. It turned out well. Just enough pressure to mostly get done what I want with it. We've also been working out getting another 25 pound bucket of 3" chlorinating tablets as pool season will be right around the corner and we only have about 12 tablets leftover from last season. It was $119 at Ollie's, which was a good deal considering they are $125 at Walmart, and $133.50 at Menard's after the 11% rebate. Saved a few bucks, but we still spent around $250 at Ollie's. Oh well. For lunch we stopped at Wendy's. I had the Asiago chicken club with Baconator fries, and wifey just had the classic chicken. My mom had a Cobb salad. That set us back around $32. We got home and of course I washed the car. Mom helped wifey trim back around a tree in the front, and I got the front lawn cut. We got done later than usual and so I just decided to get Chinese ordered in. That was another $63 with delivery and tip. All in all, I'd call it a good day. But donations are welcome if you have a little something to spare. lol

With as much money as you parted with, I'm surprised you are calling it a "good" day. LOL

@porwest That’s one of the keys to success. Don’t let the “bad” days bring you down.

@moffittjc Part of taking the good with the bad is making the bad a lesson. Or...so they say. But I believe it's true.

Like any place you go, you have to know your prices to find economical deals. Menard's is no exception. There are only certain items I will buy there. But that applies to every single place I go. No one ever gets 100% of my business because the price has to be the best one. Even a place like Dollar Tree is mostly overpriced, and so, there are only maybe 10 items I will actually buy there.

@porwest It depends on what you buy, and if you know what you are getting.

@thislittlepennyearns Well, that's what I mean. Typically, things like bottled water, toothpaste, most of the canned goods, and things like that are all overpriced. The cranberry juices, Sunny D and stuff like that are cheap.

Sounds like a productive day. I gave a "got any spare change" dude a small bottle of Gatorade the other day. Sorry, I'm all out.

It was busy, but productive, if not a bit expensive. But all worth it in the end.
