I think I might’ve mentioned this the other day—how her kid was being all sneaky and had us stop at a gas station just so she could find my favorite energy drink. So here’s what happened: we were at Dollar General Market on Friday after picking her up from school. We needed to grab some snacks for her for the weekend. While we were checking out, she started asking me what my favorite Alani Nu flavors were. I listed my top three. I thought it was a little random, but I figured it probably had something to do with Mother’s Day. Then we stopped at a gas station, and she asked me for some money but wouldn’t say what it was for. I thought that was kind of weird since we’d just spent over sixty bucks at Dollar General. But a few minutes later, she came out with my drink—and honestly, it was the sweetest thing. That ended up being my little Mother’s Day gift from her. It was so thoughtful and kind, and even though it was just an energy drink, I thought it was the cutest thing ever.
