In the Midst of Uncertainty, a Step Toward Better Leadership

The recently concluded elections were, in general, more peaceful compared to previous ones—a welcome improvement that shows progress in how we carry out our democratic process. The counting also seemed quicker and more efficient this time, which made the waiting a bit more bearable. While I may not completely agree with the overall outcome, I’m still grateful that at least two of the senatorial candidates I supported made it through. It gives me a sense of hope that change is slowly making its way in. I also can't help but feel that there's a shift happening—a breakthrough, perhaps. It seems the current administration’s grip is beginning to loosen, and more people are recognizing the need for better leadership amidst the ongoing disarray. It's still a long way to go, but these small wins give me hope for the future. Let’s stay engaged, stay aware, and keep pushing for the kind of leadership our country truly deserves.

I don’t like how it turned out either but the people of Mindanao showed everyone what ‘solid’ means.

Although we are on opposite sides, I must admit I am also not pleased with the results, as I was hoping for a different set of senators, but it did not materialize. To be honest, I was not a fan of the previous administration, nor am I particularly supportive of the current one, so now you know my stance on all of this.

Although it has somewhat improved, it is never perfect because I have heard of a lot of vote buying going on, that culture is very prevalent, and I think that many wealthy politicians are winning as a result.

@rsa101 Well, nothing's ever perfect. But if there's improvement it's a step in the right direction.

Indeed, it would take a lot of work to persuade people that the current administration and the opposition party are equally awful. The previous administration severely demonized a third force, which is the ideal one but is not recognized.

For democracy to work, people have to accept majority ruling. Once they can do that, hopefully democracy will become stronger and more accepted.

That’s true I truly respect the decision of the majority. I will wait for the next election to decide on my chosen candidates.
