Short story: Never remain just a shadow of your real self

The old Reverend, Tony Delsfield, told a parishioner that words from the heart are one with God, whereas words from the mind can distance you from both your heart, and from God too, when they are spoken without due thought.
The reverend would never give a straight worded homily, as he preferred to speak through stories to get his message across, as did his saviour, Jesus Christ.
Here is just one of his tales:
A man once worked long hours for his employee, at the expense of his wife, and family. One day, he had a heart attack at work, and died.
He ended up at the doors of Heaven, and Saint Peter asked him:
"Why was work more important to you than your family was?
The man sighed, and said:
"My family does not support me like my work does. I was myself at work, but in my family, I had to be the father figure, not myself, and so I hated being that figure, and figured I would live most of my life at work, instead of at home."
Saint Peter, thought, for a minute, before he answered, and said:
"You should never collapse your real self in you in order to be anything else. God is the father figure here, come in, and meet a true father, in his role. You have lived as your shadow, not as your real self. Try to do better here."
"Thanks,"
the man answered,
"as all is light here, I could not be my shadow self here, could I?"
"Ah,"
Saint Peter said,
"You have at last seen the light, and not just been the shadow."

Have the vision to live from light, not its shadow. Remember, light has no shadow, unless you have created it.

Yes, we should not have two faces, one our work face, and the other our home face, we should be our real self at all times, if we can be so.
