The Title / Name of Column: Problem on Duty
This is the title of choice for my column in question. It is a symbolic title as apart from the protagonist being a ‘problem’ to society, he’s also addressing problems he considers real and which are always there as if they have been assigned to serve. These are the ‘problems on duty’. Furthermore there are those that seem to take turns in their sequence of occurrence, meaning they change duties even though most will seem to share duties.
To bring it out the story in a more personalized and engaging way, I chose to write it using the third person narration approach. Thus “what he/they did”, “what he/they do” and “what he/they will do” will dominate the narration.
The story;
From the time Mr. Problems on Duty discovers himself and joyful childhood thoughts leave him, he begins to face a relentless enemy called life. The enemy is characterized by foreseeable troubles, unreliable relationships, betraying friends, eluding opportunities and scarcity of success. These ever-present woes are soothed by convincing religion and overlooked by his tolerant government.
Like any unfortunate human determined to beat most odds and survive, he struggles to hold on despite his countless failures. Some consider him uncanny as he survives many tragedies that even the smarter or wealthy haven’t. His hard work, wisdom in arguments and provision of solutions in difficult situations earn him respect. Trickery earns him most of his living, property and fame. He turns out an enigma just as his name and a reference figure in both successful and unsuccessful outcomes of character variations in society.

That is the summary of the column.
