As a farmer, I count every droplet of rain a blessing. In deed crops are doing well in most parts of the country. We are likely to have beans harvested in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, the rains are causing havoc to most of the people living rivers as most of them have broken the dikes and overflown their banks. Several farms have also been submerged. Many people have living close to River Tana, our biggest river have been evacuated. We are glad so far no deaths have been reported even though there as some people who have not been accounted for. We hope the rains will subside as at the moment; our crops do not need a lot of water.

I totally get what you mean. That is why even though the heat can be tough to bear, I’d still choose the heat over the rain any day because of the flooding. Floods are so hard to deal with. Here in the city, even though we’re nowhere near a river or body of water, we still get flooded! Imagine how much worse it must be for those living near the river. Floods destroy homes, cause so much hassle, and the physical and mental stress is just overwhelming. Stay safe and strong!
