What's for din? May 17th 2025

It was kind of a "make whatever we have the things to make" night. So I made homemade mashed potatoes and made a homemade shepards pie. Now for a lot of people, I make shepards pie wrong. Either that or I don't put enough or the right things in it. But it's what works for our family. So that's how I make it. It's got ground beef, seasoned well of course, beef broth and some flour to make the beef and gravy portion of it. A can of corn, mashed potatoes and shredded cheese. It might not be pretty, but it was yummy. So that's what we had for dinner. What went on the table at your house?

Yum! I would call it Cottage Pie though. I also call mine cottage pie. Shepherds herd sheep, that's my reasoning. Hubby was going to make stir fry. Don't hear any sounds of that, so maybe not

@porwest I like them every now and then. My hubby hates them. LOL. My daughter was game the other night though to help dig in. We were all starving by the time we finally got food!

I had a Turkey sandwich with mayonnaise. My big meal was lunch with an autumn salad. I have some left over for tomorrow too.

As long as your family loves it that is all that counts. I have not made one in a long time.

Yeah, I make mine a bit different, but I think yours works. So long as it tastes good, when it comes to cooking, that's all that ever matters to me. As for our dinner, I fired up the grill and made hamburgers and wifey made a little cold salad with orange and yellow bell peppers, onions and celery with garlic salt, olive oil and apple cider vinegar. Sort of a play on a Serbian salad. Very yummy and all was very good eats.
