yesterday and today

Yesterday morning I met up with some Audubon folks and carpooled about an hour toward the mountains. (Audubon people are folks who love birds and will be seen wearing expensive binoculars and scopes.) That is not a river in my photo. It's a huge lake. Very nice people. They walked slow. Lovely woodsy path by the lake shore. We probably walked at least half a mile- a feat for me cause lately I am lucky if I walk a block. The funny- to me- part was the guy sitting in the car in front of me was a Scotsman. Fantastic accent. He is a chef looking for work. Today I woke to wind and rain. I was supposed to take Rufus to the Vet for his yearly exam and vaccinations. That meant a twenty minute drive on that busy freeway in the wind and rain. I just couldn't do it. I called to cancel and was told I would get a 40 dollar no show fee. I went on line and lamented. The Clinic took the fee off and I was grateful for the kindness. Later I also said something about my issue with the Vet and Rufus needing vaccinations to the Animal Rescue lady. She suggested I go to Tractor Supply and get the job done there. I looked them up- they aren't too far away from me. Yup. Lots cheaper. I will get his exam done there in a couple of weeks. And no freeway driving, either!
