Belfast has just made my Top Ten List of favorite cities. I absolutely loved my day here today
I saw copious amounts of churches only equaled by copious amounts of pubs
But seriously it was beautiful. Friendliest people on earth.
We visited a lovely manor or estate that called a castle but I wouldn’t call a castle. I’ll post more about it specifically in a separate post
Lots of history here. Loads of conflict between loyalists and republicans so said our tour guide
Photo taken by me of largest Celtic cross in the British isles which happens to be in Belfast

Yeah, 40 years ago you wouldn’t have gone there on a bet because it was so dangerous. They’re so subtle: they refer to that war as “The Troubles.”
Beautiful photo! Have a great time!

@fourwalls We do indeed, but troubles has a deeper connotation that is particularly Irish.

Great photo. I wanted a Celtic cross in our headstone; but the Kotecki rep kept telling me "no". I've never understood the conflict betwees parties and religions.

Have you spent any time in a pub singing Irish songs? Before you venture to Latvia you can perhaps learn a bit of the language there are apparently 2,297 Latvians in Northern Ireland
