Four Walls That’s cool. I think US 41 follows part of it now. As the Courier and Press said, the main problem with the roads in the 1910s was mud. They weren’t maintained by anyone, and certainly with no uniformity. Nowadays there are “rules and regulations”...

Four Walls I suppose it’s because it was swallowed by the better routes, and there were no cute songs about it (“swing and sway on Dixie Highway” as opposed to “get your kicks on Route 66” ).

Four Walls That’s the only historic road I’ve traveled with any distance, too. I’d like to travel on the Lincoln Highway, too, as that’s apparently as well preserved as Route 66.
