We had the most fun time today. I’ll try to get a photo to attach
The "Blue Nose" ceremony is a sailing tradition in celebration of sailors' crossing of the Arctic Circle. It involves painting their noses blue and participating in a rite of passage, in this case it was getting ice water dumped on our heads
The ceremony takes place when a ship enters the Arctic Circle, a latitude of 66°34'N.
The ceremony recognizes and inducts sailors and passengers into the "Order of the Blue Nose," which is a way to celebrate their accomplishment

Congratulations! Be thankful you didn’t get a Shellback celebration (my brother had one of those)…of course, there’d probably be massive lawsuits if a cruise ship did what the Navy did.

I am a shellback having crossed the equator. They threw us in slop in that ceremony

Congratulations. I wouldn't have cared for the ice water. I remember pictures of my father in the Navy during the hijinks when they crossed the equator. It was terrible!!!
