I went to the big Tesco again this afternoon. I got rid of the soft recycle and went up on the lift. Then the first thing that I got when I got into the main shop was a Leisure Painter and The Artist magazine.
I got 2 bottles of water and 3 packets of seaweed thins. Then I went to get a small diary that I could put in my handbag and take to Tuneless Choir to note down dates when we might be performing. I got one but it was bulkier than I'd like, but still fits in my handbag. It says it's a 2025-2026 diary, but the thing is, it doesn't start till.July 2025! So any dates in June I'll put on the "notes" page just before the dates start.
Then I went to get Syd 2 packets of soothers. My Mum didn't want any pads today, so then it was straight to the fruit and veg section. I got 2 lots of strawberries, some little gem lettuce, some bananas and some walnuts for my Mum, and I got some blueberries, but I had to get "finest" ones in a posh container. There were two of the old ones there but their cellophane covers were coming off, some spring onions, some celery, a carton of soy milk with no added sugar, and a grapefruit for me. Then I got some mushrooms from the end of the isle. My Mum had got a voucher for 30 extra points I think it was, on Tesco mushrooms, but it had to be the "finest" ones. Normal average Tesco mushrooms wouldn't do! There were some button mushrooms there, but not in the finest range. So I ended up going for some oyster mushrooms from the Tesco "finest" range. I've never tried oyster mushrooms before.
After that I went and got my Mum a bottle of milk. Just the one, because we've still got loads in the fridge. Then I got my vegan yoghurts, but they didn't have any of the blackberry and raspberry ones, so I went for strawberry and banana and apple and pear. (That's 2 that are strawberry and banana flavoured, and 2 that are apple and pear flavoured). Mum wanted some strawberry flavoured mini rice puddings again for their puddings for Sunday, so I got those.
I got my Mum some grated cheese and some mini pork pies, and then I went to the vegan and ready meals isle. My Mum wanted some beef dinners for Sunday, but they didn't have any so I had to get the chicken ones instead. I got myself a vegan pizza and 4 packets of meat free bites.
Next I went to the ingredients isle and I got my Mum several jars of stuff! Seafood sauce, apple sauce, cranberry sauce, some branston pickle (small chunks) and some pickled sliced beetroot. Then I went straight to get Syd a chow mien pot noodle, and some sardines. They didn't have the usual brand of sardines that Syd usually has, so I had to get a Tescos finest instead. (Which was actually 5p cheaper than the usual one!) Mum wanted some sliced white rolls which I couldn't get from the little Tesco on Tuesday, so I got those!
Then I went to the cakes and I got my Mum and Syd some of those long cream doughnut things, not the round ones with the holes in them. That was for their supper tonight, and I got some mini chocolate swiss rolls which Mum had requested.
After that I went to the crisp isle and I got a tube of cheese and onion flavoured pringles, which Syd had requested on his shopping list. Then I got him a 6 pack of the Walkers crisps.
Next it was off to the teas and coffees isle. I got another box of Matcha Green tea T-bags and some of the galaxy vegan hot chocolate for myself. Then I got a jar of Nescafe instant coffee, decaf for my Mum and Syd. Then Syd wanted plain digestive biscuits and some KitKats, but I had to go into the next isle, the confectionery and seasonal isle, to get the KitKats, and then they were the chunky ones not the regular sized ones.
Then it was off to the frozen section. I got some frozen white onion for me, but still couldn't find any vegan magnum ice lollies!
In the next frozen isle I was dismayed to find the jacket potatoes right at the back of the freezer again! I managed to get my walking stick in and to dislodge one of them and knock it down to the front, but everytime I tried to lift it onto it's side so I could grab hold of it with my other hand it would fall right back down again! Then this guy came along and asked me if I needed any help with that, and I said, Oh, yes, thank you. So he reached it down for me. Then I finished off getting the frozen stuff. I got a box of those pork meat ball type things that I'm not allowed to say the name of, a box of the 2 posh fish, 4 cod in batter, and 2 small pizzas for my Mum and some prawns for me.
All I had to get then was a packet of toilet roll for Syd, and then I went to pay. It came to just over £150 I think. After I'd paid I went and sat on a bench. It was still only 3:45pm when I sat down on the bench! I'd been doing my uttmost not to rush it today! I was sitting on the bench at about 3:35pm last week so it was a slight improvement of 10 minutes since last week! I read some of my Leisure Painter and The Artist magazine while I was waiting. Then at about 4:25pm I went down on the lift and waited for Syd to pick me up in the undercover car park.
When I got home I helped Syd get the groceries out of the boot and into the house as usual. Then I gave Mum her change, shopping list, a double points voucher that can be used twice and which we have only use once, and club card. Then I unpacked the groceries and put them away.
I had my dinner, watched some telly, and then went out to Tuneless Choir.
What have you lot been getting up to today?
I hope you are all well.
Have a great night.

@sharonelton Yes. I now have shallower steps in the garage which will be easier to climb. All the other repairs were done as well. Unfortunately an expensive window broke when they were putting in the new windowsills.

@LindaOHio I'm glad everything has been done, but I'm sorry about the broken window. Surely they will replace that for free, seeing it was their fault in the first place?
