Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a quick update from my trip to San Diego—what a beautiful and memorable experience so far! We started off by visiting the Port of San Diego, where we explored the iconic naval ship that’s now a museum. It was amazing to walk along the massive deck, see the aircraft on display, and imagine life aboard such a historic vessel. The next morning, we drove up to Mount Soledad, and wow—what a view! A thin mist of clouds hugged the area, giving the morning air a refreshing coolness and adding a dreamy feel to the panoramic view of San Diego below. You could see the ocean, the city, and the surrounding hills stretching endlessly. It was absolutely breathtaking. Later, we wandered through Old Town San Diego, where the city’s roots began. It felt like stepping back in time with its preserved adobe buildings, quaint shops, and rich historical charm. It’s easy to see why this area is considered the birthplace of California. Spending time with my cousin and uncle made everything even more special. We’ve got a couple more days here, and I’m excited to discover more hidden gems around the city.

Sounds like a really nice trip that you enjoyed. Meeting family can make any trip extra special. I remember visiting San Diego Zoo and Sea World there.

True meeting family can make you feel at home with the place since your seeing familiar faces. Now I am in LA already visiting cousins from my father side too. This was my main reason coming here to celebrate my aunt’s 80th birthday.

@rsa101 Wow!! That's a great reason to visit these places. In today's fast paced life, we hardly get to meet and bond with our loved ones. Such trips will serve both the purposes of travelling and meeting people I have been to LA twice in 2006 and 2008. Do you have plans to visit Sedona and Grand Canyon? They are beautiful. Wishing a happy and healthy life to your aunt.

I'm sure there are dozens of things to see in such an historic place. Where do you go from here?

Since our primary reason for coming here was to attend my aunt's 80th birthday, we are actually already in Los Angeles. Thus, later this afternoon would be the party time.

Have fun and enjoy your vacation. When I was there, I also visited the San Diego Bay, but I did not go to Mount Soledad because of time constraints. The Botanical Garden is also a good place to visit.

We could no longer go to the botanical gardens. On a trip like this, time is truly scarce because there are so many places to see.
