Isn't variety the joy of life?

I wrote on mangoes some days back. This morning too I picked up different species of mangoes. I use the word species because I couldn't think of any other word. This morning too I gathered a bagful of mangoes. I just had to walk under the mango trees. The fruits were all scattered on the ground. Today we in the family had five different kinds of mangoes. We ate some after breakfast and some in our lunch. Isn't it beautiful about our earth that our planet is bursting with beauty. There are animals of different species here. There are flowers of many many kinds here. They are all flowers but they have unique species as well. We have varieties of mangoes around our house. We had langda, khojli, Bumbai, gulab khas, Himsagar. There are also some varieties of mangoes I don't know their names. I've heard of Alfonso but I think we don't have it here in our garden. I realised quite gratefully that each species possesses an unique taste . It's impossible to describe them. You have to taste them and experience for yourself. We are very blessed to have these mango trees around our house. There are places in India itself where you have to buy mangoes at a high price Praised be God for the good things of the earth!

Sorry to know, if you could only come to our place this time of the year. Mother Nature blessed us with a bumper harvest this year . We can't finish up eating what we gather in the morning and the fruits keep falling down all day. My wife has begun a process of preserving mango for the days, when mango season will be over. Heating up mango pulp and drying it on a tray. This way it can be relished like a candy months after the harvest season.

My nephew picked up a bag of mangoes from under one of our trees. We have about 5 varieties on our property. These include, Bombay, Julie , East Indian, No. 11 and Hayden.

Interesting names, I didn't know. We have a Bombay tree in our backyard but, Julie, Hayden, No 11 were unknown to me. Some of them remind us of beautiful actresses.

Quite right. Many people have to buy mangoes. And it depends how costly they can be. In our markets they can be sold anywhere between Rs 60 to 120 per kilogram according to their quality.

I get very bamboozled when people ask what does something taste like as it's nearly impossible to describe a taste with any accuracy. There is an orange tree in the backyard here and it's covered in oranges. They are big and sweet and have no seeds. I don't know how plants reproduce when they have no seeds.

Exactly Judy, I was wondering how I could describe the difference of flavour, sweetness, pleasure it provides, the length of time it lingers in our mouth and so on. One can only experience them not only his or her taste buds but with his mind as well.
