Police officers with the Breckenridge Police Department are asking residents in their community to make sure that they lockup their autos and secure their trash cans since Spring is here. The warning from the police was issued in late April that since the sleep time for bears is done which will wake up the bears who will be searching for food. One resident in Breckenridge had their auto broken into by a bear around Tuesday evening on May 6 searching for food after the bear saw that the door of the auto was unlocked from the passenger's front side door. Thank goodness no one was hurt even though the interior of the auto was severe. Link is upi.com/8101746630267 via @upi

I can imagine that a bear that has been hibernating for months would wake up and be very hungry indeed. I would steer clear of bears.

I would also stay from bears myself since they are dangerous animals.

@Deepizzaguy Yes very dangerous. Mind you I wouldn't be good enough at running away from a bear so I guess I would get mauled and killed and then eaten

Those bears are very determined if they think there is food available.

People need to keep their cars locked. There was a bear sighting in our town a while back. Very unusual for this area.

You are right since common sense is needed dealing with bears.
