We have been on several package holidays where we meet others and we become friends We pick those with whom we can interact better We were holidaying in Kashmir and at one point we were to share a room with another couple This was never the case ever and we were a bit upset with this The couple that we were to share the room quietly booked a room for them in a hotel and gave us a surprise saying that we can have the room to ourselves. They spent their own money We were touched by their kindness and thoughtfulness. Our friendship continued even after the holiday and we used to keep in touch with each other. Image credit:

@allknowing Sharing a room with another couple is unthinkable. I’m glad that situation was resolved satisfactorily and with generosity.

That was for the first time that happened The organizers must have had a reason.

Sharing a room with another couple!? Not sure about that but if it was a part of the package deal, why not? We were in a room at a hostel with 6 other people a couple of years ago. It was ok

@ineeddentures But what if some other uninhibited couple (or thruple in these days of enlightened thinking) decide to indulge in some how’s your father while sharing your room?

I would have never accepted to share a room with another couple. I wonder how something like this may happen.

@LadyDuck In the normal course a room is allotted to a single couple but in this case I do not know what prompted them to do this.

@allknowing I remember that in Brussels (Belgium) we went to our hotel bedroom and when we opened the door there was a couple inside. Of course it was a mistake, but I found unacceptable that no matter who can open the door of a booked room.
