Really cool and pleasant this morning. If we are lucky we will get no more storms today. I don't think we wil, because it looks too clear, and the humidity is low. So nice to have a good day for a change. I have some tomato plants to plant while the ground is wet and comparitively soft. For the most part, the soil here is red clay, although there is some sand, but that is located not in an area where I plant. I am going to make sure I have some good dirt and potting soil to mix in. I have netting to put over the plants to hopefully keep critters at bay. They had some kind of fungus on them, but I think I have gotten off the diseased leaves. Do you have good soil for planting?

We have fair soil here, it does the job after we doctor it up with peat moss and the other necessities. My Dad made a good living growing his crops on hard old clay soil. It was hard to keep drained, and not very forgiving if anyone drove on it while it was wet, as it would leave ruts.

That is what I would like is peat moss. I don't need a huge bag though. I might get some more mulch as I am out of that.

@snowy22315 We had to buy it in the big bale type of sized bag, and my husband rototilled it into the soil. He did that every year for a few years, which just gave us such rich soil for the vegetables.

Here, we did get some good plants but their growth has not been very good. May be due to the salty water that we have here. A few plants still do well, but some others struggle. So did you get any storms and / or rains?

Yes, we had a very wet week. Thank God everything is dry now. The soil is still a bit wet, but makes it easier to plant.

We do, but haven’t had a garden in quite some time. Good luck with yours.

With how expensive everything is now, a garden or a few plants is important in my eyes

Oh yes. We live in the middle of a farming area and all our gardens have really good soil When did you notice the fungus on the plants?

It was really disgusting. It was as soon as I brought them home from the grower. Obviously, they didn't like something around here. I am transplanting them all today. They said one of the problems with fungal disease is air circulation, and they may have been too crowded in those little trays.

@snowy22315 I would probably not use them.

I hope the netting helps. And that you escape those pesky storms!

I hope so. Luckily I have a few nets around here from fruit and veggies, so I can use those instead of the ones from Amazon.

With my tiny garden I need to buy potting mix for any plants. Out the front of the house, the builders just covered over the rubble - very annoying.

I am in the land of nurseries; so I would imagine the soil is good.
