What's for din? May 30th, 2025

I should of posted this last night, but it just didn't happen so I guess better late than never. I had pork chops thawed in the fridge that NEEDED to be cooked last night or they were going to waste so I tried a recipe I have not made in YEARS. I got out the crock pot and seasoned the pork chops. Tossed them in the crock pot with some cream of mushroom soup and chicken broth and cooked them nice and slow for just around six hours. Served it over rice. The girls didn't want that. So I made them spaghetti and garlic bread. I'm not a huge fan of making two meals, but since there wasn't really a whole lot of work that had to be done at dinner time for the "adults" dinner, it wasn't that big of a deal. Both meals turned out very good. What did you have for dinner?

My dad was always like, if you don’t like what your mom cooked, you don’t have to eat. But it’s that or nothing. So I ate what she cooked. And you’re such a good cook they really miss out. I mean spaghetti over those yummy pork chops? No way, the first meal was masterpiece enough. When the kids move out someday they’ll be begging you to make them anything.

@AmbiePam It turned out pretty good. It was way quicker with the rotissirie chicken. Might keep making it that way.

I have not done this in years either, but used to make something very similar to this in the crock pot. I bet that was AMAZING. We were still camping, and we had a pulled pork night that I made in the crock pot and had them on sweet Hawaiian hamburger buns with coleslaw on the side. Good eats!

@thislittlepennyearns We like the rolls too, but prefer the regular sized buns for the sandwiches. But sliders work too.

That sounds pretty good. I'll have to try it one day! Maybe throw in a bit of rice?? My hubby loves rice. I'm trying this soon!!!

We had fried chicken for dinner last night while waiting for our part time helper to come in.

Love crock pots. I've not cooked a joint or chop in one, but I do chilies and currys in mine as well as casseroles
