The light we don't want to see...

Let me share one of my drawing. I am curious what you see in this pic?
Now, if you're a Harry Potter fan, your first reaction to my drawing might be: “RUN, CHILD! DEMENTORS!!” But maybe — just maybe — these aren’t soul-sucking creatures. Maybe they're just overly dramatic ghost-friends who forgot how to say “Hi” without terrifying everyone.
Meanwhile, the poor kid in the boat is having none of it. He’s sitting there like: “Nope. Not today, shadowy emotional support creatures. I'm staying in my boat and ignoring the giant 'HELLO I’M A SYMBOL OF HOPE' lighthouse, thank you very much.”
And honestly? I get it. That’s kind of how we all are sometimes.
What I really wanted to say with this drawing — beyond the haunted sea fashion show — is that sometimes we push away the good stuff. The light, the help, the kindness… just because fear is louder than our common sense.
We all see the world through filters: past hurts, mood swings, three hours of sleep, and one too many late-night existential YouTube spirals.
So if you ever feel like you're the kid in the boat ignoring the lighthouse — just remember: you’re not alone. And maybe those spooky shadows just want to offer snacks.

Darkness is the absence of light. I can understand your thoughts. It's up to us which way we want to take. No matter the circumstances, it is our choice whether to take it positively or negatively. Things can only hurt us if we allow them to.
You're right. We're not alone. Helping someone cope with their shadows will help us cope with our own. We have to love ourselves as well.
Let me share a song about loving yourself from my fave boy band - BTS.

A well-known quote by Carl Jung, a Swiss psychoanalyst, is:
"One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious."
In light of your picture though, I can see that he might have been wrong.
We need to more befriend our imaginary figures of both light, and fear, (or darkness), to see both light, and fear, are both our friends on the path of life.
It is better not to push too much away, as we might be pushing our friends in disguise away too.

... And within every fear, there is a seed of light—if we look deeply enough... Thank you for sharing your thoughts. They truly resonated with me.

@Insired_by_God Yes, I agree that within every life lesson, hard, or easy, painful, or successful, there is a grain of truth hidden deep within it, that we can find and grow into something new and of worthiness, in ourselves. We can learn something from everything.
Every time we fall over because of fear, we can rise again because of that seed of light in that fear, if we look for it, and find it.
