We had a list of things to get done today. We gave up our "House" Clothes and put on "People" clothes. I was getting my purse packed up, and Tom went to start the Truck. He came back in and asked me to bring my van keys. I went out and his truck would not start. Just bought a new battery 2 weeks ago. But it was Dead. I gave him a jump, and we drove up to his friend's O'Reilly store, but he was out to lunch. The truck started up..had no problems the rest of the day with the truck. Something is drawing power from his battery. ANYWAY.. He decided to forget getting his tags, and we went to the office of his heart doctor...to let them know the VA okayed him to see the doctor. And showed them the paperwork from the VA. Then we went and got his bottle of Jack Daniels, and then to the cigarette store. Then we went to the AmVets, and visited for a while. I put in a total of $50 of my money, and won back $150. YAAAY! Someone brought in some Dill Pickle Cashews...not terrible..but not anything I would buy. On the way home we stopped at Popeyes Chicken and got supper. I didn't check the order. I ordered a 2 piece dark meat combo with fries and a Diet Coke. Tom ordered 2 thighs and red bean and rice side with a Diet Coke. We got the bag and drinks. Went home, and I saw the top box had fries, so I thought is was mine. It had 2 thighs. I told Tom to check his box, as I thought I had gotten his order. He had a leg and what he THOUGHT was 2 thighs, but NO red beans and rice...had Fries. After he ate his leg and thigh, he was going to save his extra thigh, but then realized it wasn't a thigh...it was a Breast! So he actually got someone elses 3 piece meal, but we paid for TWO 2 piece meals. He said "I will think about the person whose meal I got when I eat the breast for lunch".and thank him/her . It sure was a nice day all the way around, even with the side tracks and mistakes.
