I'm sure that many of us remember the 1960s TV cartoon series "The Jetsons". It was a cute show about a futuristic family and had some very futuristic and imaginative technology. It was set one hundred years in the future, 2062, and told the story of the Jetson family and their adventures in Orbit City. Later, a magazine writer, Matt Novak, wrote in Smithsonian that the show was the "single most important piece of 20th century futurism." That it had the ability to "present possible future technologies in a very simple and entertaining way".
Nowadays we have Skype, Zoom, and FaceTime, but on The Jetson's George Jetson could be seen using a video watch much like today's smart watches. And just a few seconds into the first episode, Jane Jetson is seen standing in front of a flat-screen TV that is suspended from the ceiling. And, again in the first episode, we are introduced to Rosie the Robot, their robotic housekeeper.
And, in episode 15 of season 1, George Jetson is getting his physical exam. Dr. Radius has George swallow a tiny robotic pill called the Peekaboo Prober. It enters the body and scans the internal systems. (Nowadays, we have something called capsule endoscopy with the ingestible PillCam)
In episode 16 of season 1, "Millionaire Astro", we visit the mansion of the billionaire G.P. Gottrocketts, and he is getting his three-second tan from a tanning bed with three settings: Miami, Honolulu, or Riviera.
I still watch reruns of this show. It was great. The only thing we are missing are the flying cars.

I recently re-watched that show. It's almost funny how much of the technology introduced in that show, exists today. Some smart watches do have cameras while others can be used as a bluetooth remote for your t.v. or your phone camera.

@celticeagle Yep. I can send and recieve calls on my Apple watch. I can control my phone camera with it, I can track my health and so much more. Plus, i can turn it into a talking watch at any time.

I am a huge fan of the cartoon series "The Jetsons" since I am amazed of the technology that was used when the cartoon made its debut in 1962.

The Jetsons used technology that we use now
Of that there is no doubt
You have an excellent memory.
You are correct about all you say including the fake tan.
The people that made the Jetsons were genius and 60 years ahead of their time
