Voip How Does That Work

Had a customer contact me to let me know that her office is changing internet providers, and wanted to know if our phones run off voip. She stated I don't believe your older model phones were voip, but I am not sure about your current ones. I was so confused why she thought we ever offered non voip phones. We have never offered non voip phones. How do you use phones every day, and interact with our system at work and have no idea what you are even using?

Voip is voice over internet protical. Basically, when you use your phone to make a call on line, whatsapp, messanger, telegram etc, you're using a voip. Unless you live in a ruel area, phones are programmed to use this service. Basically instead of requiring a dedicated jack that takes an out-of-date signal, the phone uses the same signal as the cell phones and wi-fi use. Your company could be using voip and you don't even know it. If the power goes out, and the phone no longer works, that's probably voip.

It's easy. People don't pay attention as long as things work, they don't care how they work.
