A neighbour from across the road is in his 90's now and has long since stopped driving. His son ....in his 60's ....lives with him and he has a car so they just go out in that one.
However, they kept the Fathers car on the drive. They said it was because when they were out and there was a car on the drive burglars would think that there was someone home and not break in.
I understand and guess it was a good idea.
As the car has been left there for some years now there are weeds that have started to grow underneath it. Also, it has been noted that the inside of the car has gone mouldy....I guess over time rain has got in .
Anyway, it became very obvious that the car was not being moved and therefore not the safety item it once was.
The son sold the car for £170 for scrap. It was collected yesturday.

That was really old car, could have modified it? anyway you got space for something to use it.

it wasn't a particulary old car. It served its purpose though

@Traceyjayne I see has done his part then instead of spending money for modifying I would have cost more then you sold it.

He might have got a lot more for it a few years earlier but we probably would have done the same.

@traceyjayne We held onto my wife’s defunct car for a while for that reason.
