I Scored Some Good Weed Yesterday

This is a stupid story that will hopefully cheer up Mike @Scarred4Lyfe. My cat Timmy gets these stomach issues involving hairballs. Serious problems, needed emergency surgery to have one removed when he was only 6. Back at home where life was wonderful, he would always jump right out my window and get to these weeds we had growing along the sides of the roof. Chew on them, and settle his own stomach, usually expelling the hairball and then he was fine. Yesterday, he started with the dry heaving and throwing up a whole lot of nothing and I knew he had something stuck again. You can imagine the heartbreak when I saw him trying to go out the window here, only to realize there was no roof, no weeds, just pushing his head against the screen in a panic. And I was like aw HELL no. I got into my car, drove back to Chesterfield, found some weed growing in the middle of an abandoned Rite Aid, (well, A WEED) and just yanked it out of the ground, roots included. I wanted it to be from Chesterfield, so he could smell the familiarity of it. It was really hard to do, this thing was growing in the middle of concrete. Was there a cop driving up and down Jefferson Ave wondering what I was doing? Of course there was. What fun would this be without a nosy cop? But he didn’t approach or ask questions, I probably looked too determined and wild. Got home, repotted the weed, gave it straight to Tim, and he loved it. Settled his stomach right away and now he’s all good. I named it Chester. (From Chesterfield). It’s Timmy’s new go-to until we get outta here. These are the things you do for love. These are the things Mike would do for Scar, if necessary. Out of love. Timmy and Tommy are all I have left from the 5-pack family. First Mama-Cat passed, then a daughter, then another daughter. All in one year, all last year, one after another. Boom - boom - boom. Gone. And now I just have the 2 boys. Do I believe one day, when they’re all gone, I will see another Mama-cat just about to have 4 kittens and we’ll all be reunited as one family unit again…….. ABSOLUTELY. Only love can do that.
