Sweet profit not expected.

While I languish here in the Normandy sunshine, propping up the French economy with my hard won savings, I am greatly encouraged by a communication (appropriately verified) from the establishment that looks after most of my income. The institution has enjoyed another bumper year with massive profits, so to keep its domestic client base smiling each loyal customer is to find and extra £100 in his or her account next month. This is ever so pleasing, but it’s also makes me feel like a grateful child fobbed off with sixpence to buy a few sweets. A measly £100 is not to be sniffed at and nor shall it be, but my money has helped make the institution a substantial profit to the sweet tune of hundreds of millions of pounds. However the institution is not obliged to give me a bonus so I have no right to complain, but £150 would have been welcome.

It's hard not to get cynical with these big institutions and their generous donations.

@judyev My institution recently paid an obscene amount of money on a new logo which, incidentally, looks stupid. Stupid logo, stupid bankers.
