Howdy from Ashland, KY. I’m continuing on my visits to places today, but first…you must be serenaded with another song with “moon” in the title. A few days early from the “real thing” this month, but here’s today’s song. Full Moon - The Kinks The older I get the more I appreciate this album. I remember hearing it first when we lived in a podunk town on the South Carolina/Georgia border. Of course, I appreciate the Kinks more and more as I get older. Ray Davies and his brother, Dave, have fought for years, but news reports say they have been recording together lately and have about 20 songs done. This song is horror-movie funny (“if the face in the mirror isn’t you at all it’s just another full moon”). It’s a great companion piece to the album’s title song, reiterating the “midnight creep” themes. Long live the Kinks.
