Last night/this morning

So, I know it has been a minute since I was last here. Sorry... I got to bed around midnight. I had a little trouble figuring out my cpap mask. But I got it done. I seem to remember waking up around 4. This is something I seem to be doing. When I was in the back of the house I woke up around 3 and I figured out it was the apartment behind me having trash picked up. It was too early to take my medicine, so I went back to sleep. At 6, which is the time I take my pain meds, I was really disorientated, but turned off Alexa and took my medicine. Then I lay there, waiting to go back to sleep. And I guess I did, because it was light. Not 9 a.m. light, but after dawn light. The alarm hasn't gone off yet, so I shut my eyes again. I know I was dreaming, but I don't remember what, just that I jerked awake and yelled "STOP!" Now, I know I dream, but I really don't remember them very often. How long has this gone on? Since 1972, after the car accident. I remember Mom gently waking me up many mornings, I didn't know why. However, when I got into the dorm the following spring, I was, apparently, not the best roommate. I looked at my phone and went back to sleep until the alarm went off. I should feel okay, because I did get a good sleep, but not really. So have you ever talked in your sleep or walked in your sleep? I have done both, but the walking was letting the dog out of my bedroom, so, not very far. Have a great day! Love ya!

I really wish I could remember, but it was gone when I said "Stop!"

@BarBaraPrz that is certainly one way to look at it. A good way!

I have been wondering what you've been up to lately. I'm glad you decided to check in with us today. As a kid, I walked and talked in my sleep. Mom had dad put locks on the screen doors to keep me from going outside in my sleep but, apparently, I figured out a way to unhook them. Mom said she found me outside in a swing singing to the moon several nights. My first wife told me that I could carry on conversations with her and she didn't realize I was still asleep until I said something really off-the-wall in the conversation. (She told me I once told her that cows have purple heads. As long as that was the worst thing I said to her, then yay, me! She said she told me to shut my stupid eyes, put my head back on the pillow and leave her alone. ) My second wife said she'd find me in the kitchen doing dishes or getting things ready for the next day and would totally ignore her. She said that was the only way she knew I was asleep because I was always talking if I was awake. (Personally, I don't believe that. My friends said I talked but usually only after they asked me a question about my day or something like that.)

I do remember one dream, but only because I had to explain why I was talking in my sleep. My friend's family had milk delivered whereas Mom always got milk at a place called Ol' Bossie. I remember my brother arguing with her brother and little sister. My sister might've been with my brother, but I think she might've only been 2 or 3. Anyway, I was saying: "Milk is milk is milk..." I think I might've gone on more, but that was basically the talking. I'm pretty sure there were other things but we moved about 4 months before I turned 10 and I had a room of my own. I've been off and on at the doctors, mostly my annual, but I also got the infusion that helps keep me from shedding calcium in my bones. But now I need to go to an endocrinologist because my parathyroid is high. I am going to a dermatologist on Tuesday, June 10th, my pain doc on Thursday, June 12th and I'm getting an MRI on Monday the 16th. Fun, fun, fun...

@DaddyEvil I have a very weak grip, I know because I actually got tested. Not in any kind of doctor's office, just at a health fair at work. 3 of my co-workers came up all happy they were in the top 4% of grip strength. They nagged until I went down and did it, I was in the bottom 4%. I was doing laundry that day at Mom's and I came in and told her about it and she was absolutely not surprised. I suspect she didn't have a strong grip herself. And, I stopped drinking most milk at 11, because it wasn't helping my stomach and I was throwing up at least once a week at school.

@ElicBxn I hope your tests all come out fine. I'm glad you get the infusions and it helps you. Losing calcium from your bones can be really bad. It's too easy to break a bone as we get older without losing calcium. I could do without all the fun. When I was a kid, I thought all milk was the same... And then somebody gave me goat milk. We had our own cows and used whole milk. (Each of us boys did a stint as milkers when we turned 13 until we moved out of the family home and then the next boy did their stint. I had trouble milking. I had/have a form of muscular dystrophy that freezes my fingers in a painful way if I use my hands/fingers too long doing something. Milking made my hands HURT! Mom bought a milking machine to use and my older brothers kept griping that I was just lazy. Mom told them to mind their own business.)

Oh, it is often hard to feel like I have had a good night at times. In some ways too much sleep is worse than too little. My body seems to have a mind of its own...
