Tim Cook rejected Elon Musk's $5 Billion offer; Not all's well inside Apple?

Recently Elon Musk had offered Tim Cook $5 Billion deal. And was confident that Tim Cook wouldn't say no. SpaceX would provide satellite connectivity for the iPhone. Naturally, iPhone's impression would be one of a kind. But Tim Cook rejected and instead signed a deal with Globalstar. A deal with SpaceX would have carried more expansive satellite services as well as a joint venture with Elon Musk. But things didn't go as expected. Musk introduced Starlink Direct to Cell which was probably more competitive than Globalstar. There was a collaboration between SpaceX and T-Mobile. So customers with T-Mobile were having an advantage. Musk also challenged Globalstar saying they were trying to halt companies like SpaceX and not allowing them to enter the market. Which iPhone do you use? Are you on T-Mobile? If yes, then you may be getting better services, isn't it?

Yes. It is Starlink - Starlink Direct to Cell. Got that one right. As for Alon And Elon, I don't know, if it was a typo or what. But anyway, thank you for correcting me.

I have not read this latest update. But was aware that something is going wrong. Elon Musk is making headlines these days due to his rift with Trump. I don't have an iPhone. Till last month I had a low budget oppo phone, enough for my work . I had it for last 4 years. My husband has given his High end Samsung Galaxy that he was using for last 3 years. His company took this model out of BYOD program. So, he had to buy another Samsung GALAXY series listed in his company list.

This is how we Indian people are. We use smartphones for at least 4 to 5 years and that is the tentative smartphone life for middle class Indian people. Whatever the life expectancy may the company give you, we use it only according to our need and if we are happy phone is functioning or not. I am currently using the Redmi Note 11S. It's been around 3 years and the phone doesn't act, it doesn't misbehave. And I am entirely happy with it. Coming to the main topic of discussion there is definitely something not good between Elon Musk and Donald Trump. They were weird close one day. And I think when such closeness develops, one starts taking the other one a bit lightly. And when is taken for granted, it looks to the other person as if he would never cut his line across. But if his unexpected thing happens, then that is the beginning of some big trouble.

@arunima25 I totally agree with both of your thoughts. We have been brought up the way that you mentioned and it happened in such an easy manner that we didn't need to do anything out of the way for that. It had been and it still is a part of our life. That is why we can make do with most of our things and different articles that are already in our home. Coming to your second point about the feud between Elon Musk and Donald Trump, I personally feel I never imagined that anything of such proximity will ever happen between them. It shows us how fragile any relationship can be when its base is nothing but money. This definitely tarnishes the US's image because the US is one such country that definitely tries to help any country in the world by taking their issues on priority. But now what can someone say? You cannot solve your own issues between two individuals, how are you going to look into our matter?

@abhi_bangal Yes, the seed of judicious spending is sown so early into us in middle class. And I proudly say that it's one of the best life skills that one can get. Musk and Trump's Freud is wide open in public. It's definitely tarnishing the overall image of the US.

A lot of Deals are made or "unmade" based on a number of factors. Sometimes a lot goes in the background but as of now, things are not looking good for Elon Musk. I think you spelled Elon wrongly.

@abhi_bangal Trump and Musk were too open and now both of them acted rashly and now this situation has happened. In some ways, I do not think, it is good for the overall image of US.

Yes. I've corrected the spelling. Thank you! Yes definitely there are a lot of factors that go behind the scenes and of which we are unaware of. But Elon Musk had said that precident Donald Trump would not have got elected without his support. And I think that is once statement that didn't go well with the president. There is no doubt that businessmen do help politicians and governments if they are in their favor. This is a give and take situation and looks like its an open secret. Am I right about that?

@marguicha Ohhhh ok. Got that. So like many other people you are using your laptop or computer to access MyLot. However when I used to write articles, I needed to use my laptop on a daily basis. But now I have stopped that previous work, I only use my smartphone. So accessing MyLot is only possible for me through my smartphone.

What 40 years of age? Sorry. I didn't get you. I'm trying to figure out the correct meaning. But I'm not able to. And I don't know if I should type out the meaning that I am a assuming. Because it may not look correct and will mismatch the meaning that I have understood.

If it is a very basic phone with only $10 a month recharge plan, I hope, then it must not be having internet connection or a few such features that Android phone has. I am just assuming. But even with basic plans and minimum recharge, due to the competition these days even recharging and internet connection have become very cheap.

Same here. I have also never used and iPhone yet. Though I have had various Android phones by various companies, getting various Android updates. But I have never used the iPhone. And whatever I use on my Android, it was sufficient. There is already 5G service here. And my phone currently supports only 4G. But even on the 4G network, there is no buffering and even if I watch videos in 1440p I am still happy because it gives me the clarity and the videos don't lag. The same is going to happen even on the 5G network. I am already pretty much happy with the 4G service.

@Ineeddentures It's the same for me as well. As I told you I haven't used 5G yet. My phone only supports 4G. Not 5G. But whatever speed I get, especially the download speed, I have checked it in 1440p resolution. And even then there was zero buffering. If I am getting data at that speed, which is more than sufficient, why would I upgrade to 5G? However I checked the 5G speed by using my friend's hotspot. And I realised that there was very minimal difference between the service I am getting now and the net connection that I checked. The only thing is that 5G would download much more data - say if I use it for 1 minute it'd download more data during the same period as compared to 4G.

In an emergency you can dial 911 from anywhere, so it doesn’t matter who the satellite service is. I have an iPhone 14 and don’t use T-Mobile. I don’t like them.

Yes. The basic and emergency features run smoothly on any phone. It is only us who have increased with the competition by offering such and such feature which is better and more powerful than its competitor in the market. But there should also be a limit and if we cross that, then the competition becomes boundless. Every now and then there is the race to be better than the other. And at one point it becomes too much to be.
