I have watched movies on Lifetime for years. I like it when women show themselves to be strong and smart. But, it seemed like the storyline were getting limp and not that great. I was getting tired of them. Nothing new.
Well, fast forward this last year or so. The stories has really turned around. They are much better. No longer the same cookie cutter stories. Now I really can't figure how the story will go when before it was rather easy.
Tonight I watched "Held Hostage in my House." It was really different and very entertaining. I am really glad to see such a change.
Do you watch Lifetime?

I haven't watched Lifetime in years. But I'm not really fond of how television works these days, anyway. Sure, I could still have cable, but I have a Samsung Smart TV, so as much as I hate it, I stream. These days, I mainly watch NBC, CBS, and a few news outlets.

I had cable for years and paid through the nose for it. Nearly $300 a month for it and the internet. I got rid of the cable a couple of years ago. I enjoy streaming and being able to watch whatever I want. I am up in the early morning hours so it is nice to have a choice. I didn't like the changeover, but now it's just old hat, nothing new. I have a Roku TV and I really enjoy it. All the free apps and I also subscribe to Hulu and Disney, Netflix and Paramount+.. But I do watch a lot of TV.

@Chellezhere I'm certainly glad I did not find that be true. I pay $100 for one year of cellservice on two phones which includes all data, phone, etc. And, I pay about $80 for subscriptions so I am assured of having the channels I enjoyed with my cable service.. I think $180 is much better than before. I hadn't added my cell service onto that last route I gave you.

@celticeagle I worked for cable companies for years before and as streaming was being born. We warned customers who were "cutting the cord" that they'd still be paying that $300.00 per month. It might not be to the same company, but when you factor in your cell phone bill, streaming bill, internet bill, and for some, a landline bill, it all adds up to no actual mone saved.

So am I. I like thrillers where the woman has to be strong.

No, I haven't, but I will look into it since you mentioned it.
Some movies are indeed the same cookie-cutter stories, but I have also watched some that are not. Have you watched the South Korean popular series "Squid Game"? It is quite different, however, it contains violent scenes. If you're not icky about those scenes, then maybe you can try watching it. It was No. 1 on Netflix on its debut showing.

I don’t have cable so no. My uncle has been in a couple of Lifetime movies, though.

I used to watch it all the time. I like their true crime stories and stories based on real events.
