I didn't go much there but buying cherry pastry or croisssant or donut, i liked going there from time to time. There is nothing inside now, completely empty and you can peek from the outside but what happened is a big question. There was no notice or whatsoever so remodelling or relocating or maybe the real end. Location was great, near school, in a mostly popular city part and then this. Even my father who visited me from our home place this weekend was shocked. What to do. I guess great malls won again and their prices cause people are getting poorer, not richer. What a pity.

It's always a pity when a bakery closes. I love donuts and pastries.

@grenery8 Our grocery store has good donuts. They are pretty expensive; but my husband used to pick some up for me each week.

It is indeed a pity. Most of the shops on our high streets have closed. Charity shops have moved in in large numbers. Mens barbers too. But the Malls are not doing so well either and many units in the Malls are empty. More people shop online now I do. It's so easy. It's usually cheaper Free delivery. Why not

here too; malls units are empty too so it's happening everywhere but maybe we didn't notice it carefully. if i had a free delivery, i would too so yes, people are just trying to survive.

@Ineeddentures absolutely true. i am careful about booze though; afraid that something would go wrong.

@grenery8 Well I survived better.by buying my booze online. And loads of other stuff. Cheaper Free delivery Easy. So why not I don't owe anyone working in a shop a living so I have a clear conscience about buying stuff online

That's a shame they are no more, but if people like yourself, only visited occasionally for a select few items, it justifies not staying open any longer. We have a bakery/deli not far from us. But they have so much more than just the bakery and deli, they take orders for trays and food. They have a cafeteria style sit down dining area and also they sell items to take home to reheat. If they were not so diverse, in today's market, I am sure that they would not be in business long either.

That is a shame I always think that the best baked good come from a bakery not a mall or supermarket

It's always a shame when small local shops close.
