Well, I am starving today so I am having an early lunch .
Rod went to a local farm shop yesturday and one of the things he got was a Spanish onion. The supermarkets don't seem to have them anymore. I have been craving a cheese and onion sandwich for a few weeks now. We had them for tea last night and it was delicious.
So, today another cheese and onion sandwich is a must.
With that I am having a slice of pork pie ....again I had been craving that for a while, I can't remember the last time I had a pork pie.
The final thing I have is frankfurters.
We have them for supper sometimes. There is ten in a pack ....Rod has four on a sandwich and then one to eat on its own ....only four will fit on the bread.
I just have the others chopped and have a bit of mayo on the side to dip them in. However because I can't eat five I have some left the next day for a snack.
So that is a picnicky snackky lunch ....
what is your lunch for today .....

Sadly the last greengrocers in our local town sold up a couple of years ago and half the stock disappeared over night, I actually think the shop now is a front for some other activities ! It was the last remaining place we could regularly find Spanish onions.
I don't eat pork pie very often ....maybe twice a year ....and I agree they are certainly not what they were.
Yes, Frank is German but has a lovely personality !
Cocktail sausages are lovely .... I only think to buy them at Christmas time.

I don't know yet... I haven't even eaten breakfast yet. It's only 5:52 am in my part of the US. I've just taken my morning meds and will need to go fix something for breakfast.
Really? An onion and cheese sandwich? I've never tried that... I do like cheese and onions but never mixed them before. I usually either eat onion by itself or I put it into something I'm cooking.

Spanish onions ....I think sometimes called cannonball onions....are large and eaten raw ....salads or sandwiches. You can also slice it and add it to sliced cucumber and then cover with vinegar ....thats delicious too
