From light shower to sudden pouring...

It's 11:22 PM here. I am not sleepy yet. I had a couple of short naps during day time and I might not get any sleep for the next hour or more. So, better come here . I was enjoying the cold breeze coming from my window. I am in the downstairs guest room since my surgery last month. I am still not trying to climb beyond ten steps to go upstairs in my bedroom. I saw that it was drizzling a bit. But soon it started pouring..and now I hear the rain sound outside, the pit patter on my terrace. I love this sound in the quietness of the night and it works as a lullaby for me. So, I might be asleep soon. Today was by far the most active and productive day in the last one month post my surgery. Today I could do few light chores around the house and even be online for a little longer. I browsed a lot of art ideas and also visited a couple of sites after a month. I made sandwich for breakfast and cut some muskmelon. I folded the laundry. I asked my daughter to give them to me on my bed. I listened to the music and finished folding. I read few pages of one book that I had got at one workshop few months back. And I could take a few walks around the home, ten minutes at a time at my comfortable speed. I felt like doing more but then I had to remind myself that I don't have to for another one month. It's my doctors advice to increase the activity level slowly and steadily without straining myself. How have you been in your myLot corner? Stay happy and healthy Take care

We had heavy shower last night and it was for few hours, enough to flood roads and create traffic havoc. Glad that no one had to go out of home today. It's all wet and cloudy since morning.

@arunima25 I cannot recognise my garden. There are coconut fronds all over rotting. There is no gardenere and nor can anyone do any work because of these showers The jack fruits are rotting too.

@allknowing It hurts to see such situation. I have not seen my garden in last one month. The gardener came only once and did not do good work as I wasn't there to supervise. Seems like it needs good amount of work. Well, I will get it done once I am back on my feel feeling all okay.

We were out on our motorbike today . More shopping Stopped for a cup of tea Had fine weather so it was good bike ride How long ago was your surgery? It's good that you could do some light chores, but please do not try and do too much too soon. That won't do you any good at all

Happy that the weather was good to enjoy your motorbike ride. My surgery was on 6th May. Has been five weeks. Since it was major, complicated and invasive, internal healing will take 3 months. I have to go slow. Yes, we all become creatures of habit. And once I have started doing a bit, I feel that I am all okay.. But then I have to keep reminding myself that I have to go slow and take all precautions. Yes, things can be caught up later. So, nothing to get worried about

@Ineeddentures Yes, 5 weeks, the initial tough ones have passed well. That's a big relief. I am feeling better with each day and very positive that each week will get better.

We have had a cloudy and on and off rainy day. The thunderstorms are coming in now. Really threw my day off because we could of gone out and done something, but didn't because it was supposed to get nasty this afternoon. Take is slowly like your dr. suggested. It takes awhile to get back to your old self.

We ran into rain today, too. It wasn't that bad. It'd stopped raining by the time we got home.

I keep reminding myself to go slow and not rush. With all these years and decades, I have become a creature of habit..of cleaning, cooking, chores, work etc. I have to remind myself that things can wait till I fully recover.

Yes, I am happy to be slowly warming up, feeling better and getting back to my daily routine being careful and cautious. It can be boring if you are sick and asked to rest all the times.

I totally agree. It's like lullaby for me. But then I didn't like the thunderstorm and lightening later. They were loud and scary.

Being cautious and doing things one by one is the best way forward for you. Please do send some rains here. We are kind of getting roasted with maximum touching nearly 44 C and feel like nearly 48 C! Bhatinda in Punjab recorded a maximum of 47 C plus and well that means the humans are getting no less than a big roasting. Officially Monsoons are still 15 to 16 days away here but the wait feels quite long although May has been one of the wettest due to freak weather. Kids' help is quite beneficial in such cases. Do well and get healthier and fitter soon !!

Thank you for your wishes and concern. I am going good with my recovery, my doctor says so. I keep reminding myself to not overdo things and go slow. I am a workaholic and a creature of habit. It's very tempting to get back on feet and keep the house spotless clean. But then I hold myself. My doctor keeps saying, don't exert yourself. That would badly impact things in long run. Post surgery care is so important, especially in this kind of invasive surgery. Yes, girls are quite responsible and helpful. This time has become like a practicing ground for girls. Good for them in way. I saw the news, there is red alert for heat wave in Delhi. Talked to mother yesterday. She is feeling the heat even more, one month of cool rainy weather in Bangalore spoiled her. I wanted her to stay till summer end. But she had something important coming up. Stay indoors and take all the precautions to be away from heat waves. Stay hydrated.

It sounds like you are making very good progress. However, when you feel good, it's easy to overdo things so please be careful.
