Turmeric rhizomes are sprouting

The rain seems to suit the turmeric we had planted during the first week of May
Even the tiniest of the rhizomes - just a quarter inch - have sprouted. That is one benefit we have got because of heavy rains.
These are rhizomes we got from our earlier harvest We had stored them and planted them in May as that is the right month.
We have turmeric powder from the earlier harvest and may not need to pull out turmeric this year If we keep them in the groun the next year we will get a bigger harvest

The maid brought a huge piece of ginger. I only needed a small bit We cut that into small ieces and planted and they have sprouted. A large pot is enough for ginger to grow It requires moisture.

@allknowing I grew it in the garden before and I miss having fresh ginger to cook.
