The Replacement Suitcase Was Inadequate

I received the replacement suitcase from Delta Airlines on Wednesday.
It is not nearly the quality of the suitcase that they damaged. The wheels are too small and not sturdy enough. The body isn't as sturdy. It won't hold quite as much as the old one.
I'm looking at other avenues to get compensation for my damaged suitcase in order to re-purchase the exact same make and model that I like. Those avenues include filing a claim with my travel insurance under their Baggage coverage and filing a warranty claim with the suitcase manufacturer.
It won't hurt to try.

You're right, it won't hurt to try. Ask them if they'll repair the damaged one (as in, sometime this year) in lieu of getting a new one. They'll probably laugh, but it's worth a shot.

Best of luck to you and I hope you can get some kind of compensation,

About 5 years ago, United Airlines completely trashed my suitcase--they gave me the case and it's contents in a cardboard box! It was a brand new, hard shell quality suitcase that my daughter purchased for me and I loved it. We took pictures of the mess, and sent them to the powers that be at United. They paid for the same suitcase I had, it wasn't their choice of replacement but mine. I didn't know they ever did that. Weird.
