A snake that may have been abandoned by his owner was seen in a front yard in Cedar Rapids on Monday May 12.
An officer with the Cedar Rapids Care and Control found a nine foot phyton who goes by the name Hiss-a-Lot was taken by the animal control officers during the weekend would be transported to a new home in Illinois where snakes can be kept as pets legally while in Iowa it is against the law to have a snake as a pet.
Hopefully the snake will be taken care of by a snake farm in Illinois where the owners of the snake farm do not want the name of location to be published for privacy reasons.

That lady sure does have a good hold of the giant snake.
Hiss-a- lot , what a great name.
It's a real pity that people in Iowa can't keep a pet snake legally.
But hopefully the snake will be happy in its new home
If it drinks a lot it could be called Piss- a-lot
