Few comments received here about why one should bother about what the media tell us if it does not affect us in any way I gave a thoght to it and I tend to agree . I wrote posts on the plight of those who got perished in that plane crash and all those who died there most of us have no connection with. TV Channels and the news papers have been filling us up with nothing but the crash news What do you think? How important is such news to you

You raise a valid point—it’s natural to question the relevance of news that feels distant from our personal lives. At the same time, news like plane crashes or major events often gets wide coverage because they remind us of our shared vulnerability and humanity. While we may not know the people involved, such stories can evoke empathy, raise awareness about safety or systemic issues, and sometimes even inspire action. That said, it’s also healthy to set boundaries with media when it becomes overwhelming. Balance is key.

Media surely overdoes That plane crash is still the main news here. Granting it cautions us but in what way I really do not know. It is time I learn to move on and not stick to my TV that bellows out news that is not helpful to me in any way I have switched off the Tv for now which is a first time for me

@allknowing I guess that would be the best alternative if you feel overwhelmed with the news.

I don’t need it poked into my brain constantly. I think about it way too much anyway.

I like to know what happens, but I hate to read and see all the time the same news with too many details that we really do not need to know. Later they will stop and we will not even know exactly what happened. Old news is no news.
